The source of the Urabandai Osho Onsen, which was presented to the domain during the Edo period and supplied to the imperial family during the Meiji era, has a history. The hot spring water that gushes from ancient seawater buried deep in the strata is carefully boiled down in a wood-fired kiln to create "Yama Salt," which has a very limited annual production and is referred to as "phantom salt." Its mildness, rich umami, and sweetness make the clear broth that maximizes the flavor of this rare mountain salt a true culinary masterpiece that can only be tasted here.
About 40 minutes by train from Koriyama Station on the Ban'etsu West Line. Head to the popular Inawashiro Station where you can see Mount Bandai from the train window.

The popular sightseeing spot in Fukushima Prefecture, Urabandai's "Goshikinuma Nature Trail." It has been selected as a one-star destination in the Michelin Green Guide.
It is not just one pond that is called this, but a collective term for many ponds that form a lake area. It is a popular spot throughout the year, but in autumn, the trees dyed in red and yellow brightly illuminate the forest, highlighting the "overwhelming blue" created by nature, such as emerald blue and turquoise blue.
The nature trail is about 4 km long. Let's decide on the walking distance while discussing the day's weather and your physical condition.
At the west side of the Goshikinuma Nature Trail, the "Urabandai Local Products Center" offers local vegetables, fruits, and souvenirs. In the eat-in space, you can enjoy "Aizu Yama Salt Ramen" made with "phantom salt." Gelato is also recommended!
(The tour fee does not include meal costs or souvenir costs.)

At an elevation of 850m, Urabandai experiences autumn foliage earlier than the surrounding areas. However, the peak viewing time may vary slightly depending on the situation at the end of summer.
In early October, we may go to a slightly higher elevation, and at the end of the month, we might visit spots around Lake Inawashiro. We will guide you to hidden autumn foliage spots based on the day's conditions.
To wrap up the journey, souvenirs are a must. We will take you to a popular road station in Fukushima Prefecture.
