In September, there is the Kitakata KANPAI Festival, "one of Japan's premier sake events."
Although it is a one-day event, if the schedule doesn't match, a completely private Tabinoito can make it happen.
The journey starts from Kitakata Station.
Aizu is known for its soba. During this season, enjoy a pleasant drive through the Aizu basin while viewing the pure white soba flowers.
Stroll through the retro streets lined with traditional storehouses and visit unique sake breweries like Obara Shuzo (which plays classical music).
There are many other sake breweries where you can enjoy tours.
Homare Shuzo, Yamato-gawa Shuzo, Kitano Hana Shuzo... Let's visit the breweries to find your favorite taste!
Stopping by a roadside station during your travels to look for snacks to pair with sake is also a delight.
With sake in hand, savor Kitakata ramen and the exquisite Aizu sauce katsu don, and fully enjoy your trip to Aizu!
