Noguchi Hideyo Memorial Museum
The life and achievements of the world-renowned medical scientist Hideyo Noguchi, who was born in present-day Inawashiro Town in 1876 (Meiji 9) and died at the age of 51 after contracting yellow fever during his research, are displayed in an easy-to-understand manner. There are also hands-on exhibits where you can learn about the world of bacteria while having fun. The museum preserves Noguchi's birthplace, including the hearth where he was burned and the floor pillar where he etched his determination when moving to Tokyo.
