Kintouzan Eiryuji Rokkakudo
Known as one of the symbols of the Buddhist city of Aizu, the "Aizu Korori Three Kannon" is an ancient temple designated as the 31st temple of the Aizu Thirty-Three Kannon.
The wooden statue of the thousand-armed Kannon, which is the principal object of worship, boasts one of the largest heights (approximately 8.5m) in Japan, carved from a single tree.
As the name 'Standing Tree Kannon' suggests, it is said that the roots extend down to the floor, and due to its impressive and mysterious appearance, it is deeply revered by the locals.
