Old Igarashi House
Built in the mid-Edo period, this is a typical residence of a mid-sized farmer in the Aizu region. Tools from that time are also on display.
There is no foundation, and the pillars are placed directly on round stones. The 'nakano-ma' called 'omee' has a dirt floor covered with straw or tatami mats, and there are no ceilings in any of the rooms, preserving the old style and allowing us to glimpse the lives of common people at that time.
