Towers of Heturi
A scenic spot with bizarre rocks standing like towers, it is the largest scenic area along the Okawa Line. Over a million years, erosion and weathering have created this magnificent landscape. It was designated as a national natural monument in 1943.
Heturi is a local dialect meaning steep cliffs or slopes that approach the river. A suspension bridge is built to the cliffs, allowing visitors to explore inside. The vibrant autumn leaves color the rock walls, and the fallen leaves flowing down the river add to the charm.
