It is a story that began with the earnest wish of a young man, Shunsuke Koike, to 'save his hometown' and his passion for looking at the world.

■ A young legacy at 28, thinking of his hometown

The founder, Mr. Koike, was captivated by the magic of whiskey at a distillery in Scotland while studying in the UK. His hometown faces the crisis of extinction due to declining birth rates and an aging population. How to connect the family retail business and this beloved land to the next generation? The answer was to create 'Bandai whiskey' loved by people around the world.

• Beyond tragedy: In 2022, halfway through his dream, he suffered an accidental death in the sea of Shiretoko, leaving this world at the young age of 28. However, his passion did not wane.
• Inheritance of aspirations: Using the underground water from Mount Bandai, to create a world-class single malt. In 2024, the 'Tenkyou Distillery' finally began full-scale operations, thanks to the determination passed on by his companions.
