At the foot of Mount Bandai, in Inawashiro, a new distillery has emerged, chasing amber-colored dreams alongside the aroma of the traditional sake 'Eisen'. 'Tenkyou Co., Ltd.' It is a story that began from the earnest wish of a young man, Shunsuke Koike, to 'save his hometown' and his passion for looking towards the world.

■ A young legacy at 28, thinking of his hometown

The founder, Mr. Koike, was captivated by the magic of whiskey at a distillery in Scotland while studying abroad in the UK. His hometown faces the crisis of extinction due to declining birth rates and an aging population. How to connect the family business of retail and this beloved land to the next generation? The answer was to create 'Bandai Whiskey', loved by people all over the world.

• Beyond tragedy: In 2022, in the midst of his dreams, he suffered an accidental death in the sea of Shiretoko at the young age of 28. However, his passion did not fade.
• Inheritance of aspirations: Using the underground water of Mount Bandai, to produce a world-class single malt. With the firm determination inherited by his companions, 'Tenkyou Distillery' finally started full-scale operations in 2024.
