【The Dynamics of Destruction and Regeneration】 Traces of the Eruption and the Paradise of Wild Birds 'Renge and Nakase Swamp Trail'

Among the many lakes scattered throughout Urabandai, 'Nakase Swamp' is a top viewing point frequently visited by professional photographers. Starting from the Urabandai Site Station, the approximately 45-minute course that circles from Renge Swamp to Nakase Swamp is beautifully maintained with guide signs and wooden paths, making it a popular trekking route where anyone can easily enjoy the great outdoors.

■ The Drama of the Earth Told by the Eruption Traces 'Nagareyama'
This route's unique highlight is the small hills called 'Nagareyama' that dot the roadside. In fact, these were formed by the collapse of Mount Bandai during the great eruption in 1888 (Meiji 21), where a large amount of rocks and soil flowed in. The breathtaking view of the rugged slopes of Mount Bandai, with its rough-hewn surface, against the backdrop of the clear, calm water and the colorful broadleaf forest, tells the history of nature's 'destruction and regeneration.'

■ Surrounded by Nature's Orchestra: 'The Holy Land of Bird Watching'
Additionally, this area is known as 'The Holy Land of Bird Watching,' attracting enthusiasts from all over the country. Delicate alpine plants bloom at your feet with each season, and from deep within the forest, the beautiful chirping of various wild birds such as the Narcissus Flycatcher and the Blue-and-white Flycatcher can be heard continuously. With binoculars in hand, search for the creatures of the water's edge and wild birds, and immerse yourself in nature's orchestra. Enjoy an exquisite nature walk that fully engages your sight and hearing, allowing you to feel the rich vitality of Urabandai.
