Attraction of History and Culture

Kitada Castle Ruins

Builder and period: Built in the 4th year of Kenkyu (1193) during the early Kamakura period by Sahara Jiro Hiromori, the second son of Sahara Moritoyo. Hiromori took the name Kitada in this area.

The Kitada Castle Ruins are designated historic sites of Yukawa Village.

Katsuzouji

Katsuzouji

At the center of Yukawa Village's history and culture is a representative ancient temple of Tohoku, said to have been established in the 2nd year of Daido (807).
