This is natto, known as a local specialty. It can be purchased at roadside stations and other places.

This is a natural hot spring that springs up in the deep green forests at the foot of Mount Banpaku. The water quality includes simple springs and chloride springs, and it is said to be effective for neuralgia and muscle pain.

Banpaku Town offers a rich variety of local specialties, agricultural products, and souvenirs.  
There are also restaurants using local ingredients, making it perfect for a break during a drive.

Hoshino Resort Nekoma Mountain is a highlight.
It connects two ski resorts, Alts Bandai and Nekoma Ski Resort, spanning north and south of Mount Nekoma, creating one of the largest snow resorts.
It connects ski resorts and tours sightseeing spots.

Founded in 2018 as an alcohol manufacturing and sales company, it combines the Tenkyou Distillery for whiskey production and the Eikawa Sake Brewery for sake production.  
The founder is Shunsuke Koike. While studying in the UK, he visited a distillery in Scotland and encountered whiskey. Amidst Japan's declining population due to low birth rates and an aging society, how to sustain the family business of retail? Also, concerns about the disappearance of his hometown...  
Can the whiskey he encountered connect to local solutions?  
In early spring 2022, he tragically passed away at the young age of 28 due to a maritime accident in Shiretoko, Hokkaido.  
Connecting the founder's desire to create Scotch whiskey using the underground water of Mount Banpaku, the whiskey distillery began operations in 2024. Let's follow that story together.
